Renovation project: A conjunction of opposites

In this Parisien flat in the 10th-arrondisment, two two-room units have been combined during a complete renovation project carried out by Lola Grubor Interior Design.
Objective: to create a 70-square-meter family space, modern and bright, despite the load-bearing wall and no more than four windows.
By cutting a pass-through in the load-bearing wall, two volumes have been adjoined. The living area is now organised in a fluid open-space layout, filled with light and yet with clearly defined zones of the lounge, kitchen and dining room.
Each bedroom features its own window, while the glass roof in the bathroom gently lets in natural light to the very heart of the flat.
Outcome: a modern and functional renovation, in which light becomes the primary material of interior design.
