Rehabilitation of an atypical, attic-style 115-square-meter flat, located on the 5th floor in the vicinity of Paris, Houilles.
Challenge: to create a tailor-made family space – three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large dressing room, sports area, workspace, shelves and library – while optimising the sloping volumes.
Inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudí and the Sagrada Familia, the Project celebrates colour, light and the play of height.
At the very entrance, the glass partition, mezzanine net and cathedral ceiling set the tone of the space, emanating simultaneous boldness and harmony.
The load-bearing columns become decorative elements, mosaic adorns the kitchen, with every slanted corner accomplishing its purpose, even the secret tunnel in the children’s room.
An inventive and poetic reconstruction, in which architectural constraints turn into strengths of interior design.
